Port Adelaide Enfield Libraries are offering individual sessions to help you explore the Ancestry database and other resources that can assist with family history research.

DISCOVER NEWSPAPER ARTICLES REGARDING YOUR FAMILY

TROVE newspapers online is an initiative of the National Library of Australia and each States State Library to digitise Australian Newspapers up until 1954.  You can search TROVE to find articles, family notices, obituaries, information on your property.  A phrase search is best if you can do it.  You can restrict by date, State and to illustrated articles.

SANDS & McDOUGALL ALMANACS

Sands and McDougall Directories are what post offices used to deliver mail.  The book is divided into two sections.  The first half of a book is organised by street and can help you to locate who was living in your house.  The second half of a book is an alphabetical listing similar to today’s telephone directory which can help you to locate where a relative was living.  You can search Sands and McDougall Directories online from  1864 to 1973 at:
